Wilco van den Akker is an experienced professional in the maritime and datacentre industries. Currently serving as Shift Manager Datacentre at Global Switch since August 2017, responsibilities include managing the maintenance of critical equipment and systems. Prior to this role, extensive experience was gained at A.P. Moller - Maersk Group from June 2007 to July 2017 as Chief Maritime Officer, overseeing technical operations, maintenance planning, risk assessments, and personnel training related to safety and equipment. Previous positions include Surveyor at Bureau Veritas, and various roles including MO-1 and other engineering positions at P&O Nedlloyd and Nedlloyd. Educational qualifications include studies at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Lambert Francken College.
