Scott Wiedeman

Chief Scientist at Global Solar Energy

Scott Wiedeman has extensive work experience in the solar energy industry. Scott started their career in 1994 at BP Solar, Thin Film Div., where they served as the CIS Group Leader. In this role, they led a team of five individuals to produce a thin film solar module with a record efficiency of 13.1% NREL-confirmed. Scott also designed and built equipment for semiconductor deposition of CIGS-based solar cells and modules.

In 1997, Scott moved to Global Solar Energy, where they initially served as a Senior Scientist. In this position, they conducted research and contributed to the development of solar energy technologies. Later on, they were promoted to Chief Scientist, further enhancing their role within the company.

Throughout their career, Scott has been involved in the advancement of solar energy technologies, with a focus on efficiency and technological innovation.

Scott Wiedeman completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics at Muhlenberg College from 1974 to 1977. Scott then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Delaware from 1977 to 1980. Later, between 1980 and 1984, Scott completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering (Applied Science) from the same university.
