Nikolay P. Nezlin has a strong background in oceanography and data science, with over 18 years of experience at the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project. Nikolay P. Nezlin began their education in 1972 at Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 1977. Following this, they pursued further education at the P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, Moscow, Russia, from 1977 to 1981, earning a Master of Science degree in Oceanography. Nezlin continued their academic journey at the same institute and obtained a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from 1981 to 1983.
