Suman Pokharel has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Suman is currently serving as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Global IME Bank Limited, a position they have held since November 2023. Prior to this, they were the Chairman of the Board at Smart Choice Technologies Pvt Ltd and a Member of the Board of Directors at Dish Media Network P. Ltd. Suman also held the position of Senior Vice President at IME Group Nepal from April 2022 to November 2023 and was a Member of the Board of Directors at Aadhyanta from November 2021 to November 2023. Suman Pokharel has also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Nepal Infrastructure Bank Ltd. (NIFRA) from December 2021 to April 2023.

Earlier in their career, Suman Pokharel worked as the Chief Executive Officer at IME Ltd. from July 2012 to March 2022 and as the General Manager from July 2010 to July 2012. Suman was also a Member of the Board of Directors at Global IME Bank Limited from July 2012 to December 2020. Suman Pokharel has a strong background in the banking industry, as they held the position of Senior Relationship Manager at Global IME Bank Limited from September 2007 to July 2010. Additionally, they served as the Managing Director at Dish Media Network Limited from April 2014 to April 2015.

Suman Pokharel holds a Proficiency Certificate in Management from Tribhuvan University, which was obtained from 1996 to 1998. Suman also completed a Bachelor's in Business Studies from Shankar Dev College, Tribhuvan University, from 1998 to 2001, followed by a Master's in Business Studies from the same college from 2002 to 2005. Presently, Suman is pursuing a Digital Business Strategy course at MIT Sloan School of Management, starting in 2021. Additionally, Suman has obtained several certifications in various areas of banking, leadership, and business from reputable institutions such as the International Development Institute (IDI), National Institute of Bank Management, National Institute of Banking Management, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Indian School of Business, and AOTS Japan.
