Donna Toleno

Principal Clinical Programmer at Glaukos

Donna Toleno has a diverse range of work experience spanning over two decades. Donna started their career as a Graduate Student at Penn State University in 1992 and continued their doctoral research at U.C. Riverside as a Graduate Research Assistant in the field of Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics.

In 1997, Donna worked as a Quality Control Technician at Nittany Pharmaceutical before transitioning to the role of a Customer Support Specialist at Minitab, where they provided technical assistance for statistical software users.

Donna then took on the role of an Editorial Assistant for the Journal of Statistics Education at Villanova University, before joining U.C. Irvine as a Staff Research Associate II in 2006. Donna worked there until 2007 and then moved on to become a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Southern California.

In 2008, Donna started working at Ibis Biosciences, a Division of Abbott, as a Scientist. Their responsibilities included analyzing data for diagnostic assays, optimizing assay performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Donna also supported the manufacturing and R&D teams throughout the assay testing process.

Alongside their role at Ibis Biosciences, Donna also worked as a Tutor at Tutor.com in 2008, providing academic assistance.

Most recently, Donna has been employed at Glaukos Corporation as a Senior Clinical Data Reviewer since 2017.

Donna Toleno obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology from Ursinus College in 1992. Donna pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biology from Penn State University from 1992 to 1997. In 2000, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Applied Statistics from Villanova University.

Donna then continued their academic journey and pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biological Sciences at UC Irvine from 2004 to 2006. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Design Control Requirements and Industry Practice from AAMI in January 2013.
