Melanie Carlsen has held various roles in the insurance industry. Melanie started their career in 2006 as a Student in Analysis and Risk Management at Nykredit, where they worked until 2010. Melanie then joined Gjensidige in 2011 as an Actuary, a role they held until 2018. Melanie then became a Scrum Master at Gjensidige from 2018 to 2019. Currently, they are serving as the Head of BI Denmark at Gjensidige.

Melanie Carlsen earned a Master's degree in Actuarial Science from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen from 2004 to 2011. In 1999 to 2002, they studied Matematisk Student at Fredericia Amtsgymnasium. Melanie also took courses in English for professional purposes at Columbia University in 2013 and in Business Administration and Management, General at UC Berkeley Extension in 2012.
