Devon Rifkin is a Principal Research Engineer at GitHub, where work on GitHub Copilot and other projects is currently ongoing since September 2021. Prior to this role, Devon served as a Staff Research Engineer at VMware from August 2019 to September 2021 and held the position of Senior Staff Engineer at Intrinsic, an application security startup co-founded and led as CTO from April 2015 to August 2019. Intrinsic successfully secured funding from notable investors including Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, and First Round Capital. Earlier in the career, Devon worked as a Software Engineer at Yahoo from August 2013 to September 2014 and at Rockmelt, which was acquired by Yahoo, from June 2010 to August 2013. Devon holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, summa cum laude, from UCLA and attended Stanford University for a Master of Science in Computer Science, although the program was not completed.
