Janine du Plessis is currently serving as Water Supply Project Manager at Christchurch City Council since June 2024 and has held the position of 4 Waters Construction Engineer at Gisborne District Council since November 2020. Prior to these roles, Janine worked as a Water Engineering Technician and as a Metallurgist In Training for The De Beers Group of Companies from February 2016 to November 2018, where responsibilities included optimizing plant operations and ensuring safety and quality assurance. Janine's earlier experience also includes student temporary roles at The De Beers Group and NCP Chlorchem. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from North-West University and ongoing studies for a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering Technology at Open Polytechnic of New Zealand, expected to complete in October 2025.
