Experience: Luisa has a strong background in public relations and financial risk management, with experience in leadership, diversity, and community engagement. She previously served as a Diversity and Inclusion Associate at The Daily Texan, where she contributed to DEI initiatives that supported underrepresented communities at UT Austin. Additionally, as a Finance Associate with the Financial Literacy Club, she helped create financial literacy workshops and advocated for a mandatory personal finance curriculum for students.
Currently, as a Community Engagement Associate with the UT Austin Student Foundation, Luisa leads campaigns promoting philanthropy and student engagement, including "Thank a Donor" and "40 Hours for the 40 Acres." She also gained valuable experience at Costco, where she played a key role in the successful opening of the Georgetown location by securing over 400 new memberships.
In her free time, Luisa enjoys attending concerts, going to karaoke, and exploring Austin’s food trucks.
What I love about Girls Empowerment Network: What I love most about working with women is the opportunity to create a better world for girls. Connecting with them one-on-one and reminding them that they are powerful, capable, and can achieve anything they set their minds to is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that my work impacts them on a personal level and contributes to positive societal change makes it all the more meaningful. As a professional and leader, I’m proud to be part of a movement that empowers the next generation to believe in themselves and their limitless potential.
