Tammy Carlson is a highly skilled professional with a significant work experience. Tammy worked as a Grant Writer at the Girl Scouts Council of Colonial Coast from 2000 to 2005, where they were responsible for obtaining and maintaining restricted operating and capital funding projects. Their role included researching funding sources, writing grants, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. From 2005 onwards, they held the position of Human Resources Director at the same organization. Prior to this, Tammy worked as a Personnel Analyst II at the City of Portsmouth from 1996 to 1997.

Tammy Carlson, SHRM-SCP, holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Northern Michigan University. In addition to their degree, they have obtained the following certifications: a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021, and the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in June 2020.
