John Shimmin is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in mobile and audio development. Currently serving as an iOS Developer at Ginger Labs since June 2023, John previously held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Amazon, where responsibilities included audio transcoding and native audio player development for iOS and Android. With extensive experience at Smule, Inc., John was an Architect/Fellow overseeing an audio-visual team and held director roles for both mobile and iOS engineering. Additional roles include Engineering Manager at Playdom and Ticketweb, Principal Engineer at Model N, Lead Engineer at shockwave.com, Software Architect at Tumbleweed, and Lead Engineer at Chase Manhattan. John holds a degree from Columbia University, earned between 1987 and 1991.
