Suzanne Finnerty is an experienced educator currently serving as the 10th Grade Form Chair and Upper School History Teacher at Gilman School since August 2021, where responsibilities include creating learning opportunities in 10th grade Making Modern Europe and AP Art History classes, as well as coaching soccer and lacrosse. Prior to this, Suzanne worked at Baltimore City Public Schools as a Secondary Social Studies Teacher from August 2019 to August 2021, where Suzanne implemented standards-based lessons and collaborated with fellow educators to improve student achievement. As a 2019 Corps Member of Teach For America, Suzanne was certified for Secondary Social Studies and contributed to education initiatives in Baltimore. Additional experience includes positions such as Lead Consultant at Hamilton College and Program Director Intern at Harlem Lacrosse, alongside various coaching and educational roles that fostered teamwork and confidence in young athletes. Suzanne holds a Master of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching from Johns Hopkins University School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Hamilton College.
