Darren Tayama, MD, is a highly experienced medical affairs and clinical development leader in oncology with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Vice President of US Medical Affairs Oncology at Gilead Sciences, Darren oversees the medical affairs strategy and the field-based medical scientist team for hematology and oncology products. Prior roles include Vice President of Clinical Development at Exelixis, where Darren managed significant clinical trials for a new tyrosine kinase inhibitor, and Executive Director at Genentech, leading a national team of medical science liaisons and overseeing cancer immunotherapy strategies. Education includes an MD from Stanford University School of Medicine and a BA in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
