Shannon Wollman has a wealth of experience in the field of philanthropy and fundraising. Shannon started their career at Sinai Hospital, LifeBridge Health, where they served as a Campaign Manager for 11 years. During their time there, Shannon actively participated in major gift and annual fund campaigns, identifying and soliciting donations from various sources including corporate and family foundations, individual philanthropists, and grateful patients.
In 2011, they joined Johns Hopkins Medicine as the Senior Associate Director of Development for the divisions of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. In this role, they developed and implemented strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts. Shannon also played a key role in engaging potential donors and closing gifts, as well as nurturing ongoing philanthropic relationships.
Shannon's success in their role led to their promotion to Director of Development for the Heart and Vascular Institute at Johns Hopkins in 2014. In this position, they oversaw a team responsible for a $100 million fundraising campaign for the divisions of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery as part of a larger $5 billion campaign. Shannon collaborated with faculty members and engaged with grateful patients both domestically and internationally to secure funding for medical research, program priorities, and clinical initiatives.
After their successful tenure at Johns Hopkins, Shannon joined Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in 2017 as the Vice President of Development. In this role, they continued to utilize their expertise in fundraising, focusing on the development and management of philanthropic initiatives for the medical center.
Most recently, Shannon joined Gilchrist in 2018 as Chief Philanthropy and Marketing Officer. Shannon'sresponsibilities in this role include overseeing philanthropy and marketing strategies for the organization.
Shannon Wollman obtained a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and Communication from Towson University, completing their education between 1986 and 1991.
