Rikesh Modi has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Rikesh began their career as a Network Administrator at BASF, where they worked from 1996 to 1999. Following this, they joined Barnes & Noble as a Senior Network Engineer, implementing triple layer DMZ in the core network and conducting trials and FOA exercises for content optimization and traffic shaping. Rikesh worked at Barnes & Noble until February 2001.

In 2001, Rikesh joined Verizon Wireless and held various positions over the years. Rikesh initially served as an MTS in National Network Operations and Engineering, working on infrastructure planning projects and designing and implementing SMS solutions. Rikesh then became a DMTS, leading Verizon's M&A efforts and working on projects involving Mobile Apps and Device management. Rikesh subsequently transitioned to the role of Senior Program Manager, focusing on product development and network implementation. Lastly, as a PMTS - Senior Network Engineer in Maintenance Engineering, Rikesh provided maintenance engineering support. Rikesh remained at Verizon Wireless until June 2016.

From 2016 to 2018, Rikesh worked as an SDN Engineer at SDN Essentials, providing complete support for Juniper's new initiatives in software-defined networking. Their responsibilities included designing, integrating, implementing, and automating solutions using open-source projects and the latest technologies such as Juniper Contrail SDN controller, uCPE, vCPE, CSO, NFV, and OpenStack.

In 2018, Rikesh joined Juniper Networks as a Professional Service Solutions Consultant, a role they held until March 2021. During their time at Juniper, they continued to contribute to providing professional service solutions, leveraging their expertise in networking technologies.

Following their tenure at Juniper, Rikesh joined VMware as a Professional Service Solution Consultant in April 2021, where they worked until June 2021. Currently, they are employed as a Resident Engineer at Gigamon, starting in November 2021.
