Turner Topping has worked for three different companies in a variety of roles. In 2017, they joined Ghost Robotics as part of their Engineering Team. Prior to that, they worked at SpaceX from 2013 to 2017 as an Avionics Intern. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Research Assistant at the Collaborative High Altitude Flow Facility.

Turner Topping completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2014, having started the program in 2010. Turner then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Southern California, which they completed in 2014. Topping is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
