Claire Sweeney

Director, Medical And Scientific Communications at GH Research

Claire Sweeney has over nine years of professional experience, starting in 2012 at Hiltons Pharmacy as a Support Pharmacist. Claire then worked at Dowlings Pharmacy as a Supervising Pharmacist in 2016. Claire transitioned to the field of clinical research in 2018 and worked as a Research Scientist at Applied Research for Connected Health and as a Clinical Research Fellow/Clinical Research Coordinator at The Heartbeat Trust. Sweeney then joined BD in 2021, where they served as a Senior Medical Writer/Clinical Affairs Specialist until 2023 when they were made the Medical and Scientific Communications Manager at GH Research.

Claire Sweeney has an extensive education history that began in 2007 at Trinity College Dublin, where they pursued a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in Pharmacy until 2011. Shortly after, in 2011, they enrolled in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) for a Master's degree in Pharmacy, which they completed by 2012. Claire then took a brief hiatus before resuming their studies in 2016, where they pursued and completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University College Dublin. In 2018, Sweeney enrolled in Trinity College Dublin again, studying Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Administration as they worked towards their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), which they completed in 2021.
