Olivier Raevel has extensive work experience in the field of commodities trading and derivatives. Olivier currently holds the position of Vice President, Commercial EU at Gevo, Inc., where they focus on transforming renewable energy into low-carbon fuels and chemicals, with a primary market focus on sustainable aviation fuel. Before joining Gevo, Olivier served as the Managing Director Europe for Griffin Markets from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they were a member of the Consultative Working Group of the ESMA Commodities Derivatives Task Force at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) from 2014 to 2022. Additionally, Olivier worked as the Head of Commodities Markets at Euronext from 2014 to 2018, and they served as an Advisory Consultant for NYSE from 2011 to 2014. Olivier'sprevious roles also include VP-Structured Products at Koch Supply & Trading from 2007 to 2010, Director of Structuring, Commodity Derivatives at ABN Amro from 2005 to 2007, and various positions within the Commodities Derivatives Division at Societe Generale from 1991 to 2003.
Olivier Raevel obtained a Master in Management - (Grande Ecole) degree from HEC Paris from 1989 to 1991. During their education, they focused on enhancing proficiencies in Finance and Corporate Strategy. Additionally, in 2019, they obtained certifications including RCSI Officer from Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) – France and GME -> ESMA authorised OTF supervised by AMF & ACPR (Système Organisé de Négociation) from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
