Markus Junk is a research scientist with extensive experience in safety research and technological applications across various sectors. Currently employed at Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (GRS) gGmbH since 2020, Markus contributes to the Cooling Circuit Department. Previous positions include a research scientist role at Deutscher Wetterdienst from 2017 to 2020, focusing on Numerical Weather Prediction and radar-based Nowcasting. Markus also held the position of Sr. Modeling Engineer at Lam Research from 2007 to 2016, specializing in flow process simulations for wafer processing. Earlier experience includes a nuclear technology surveyor role at TÜV Nord SysTec GmbH, where thermal and hydraulic simulations for nuclear power plants were conducted, as well as scientific assistant work at the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity, involving hydrodynamic stability investigations. Markus holds a Diplom-Physiker in Physics from Universität des Saarlandes and a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Bremen.
