Syed Nizam Syed Idris has extensive experience in the field of engineering and education, currently serving as the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the German-Malaysian Institute since May 1997. In addition to this role, Syed Nizam has held positions such as Principal Technical Training Officer and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department. Responsibilities include managing technical training officers and technicians, as well as supervising students in practical training and final year projects. Prior to joining the German-Malaysian Institute, Syed Nizam worked as an engineer at Sony, where duties involved testing, commissioning, and maintaining PCB testers. Academically, Syed Nizam holds a Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the International Islamic University Malaysia, alongside further qualifications in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering.
