Leo Howell, MBA CISSP CISA, serves as Vice President of Technology and Chief Information Officer at the Georgia Institute of Technology since October 2021, also holding the role of Chief Information Security Officer. Previously, Leo was the Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Oregon from December 2017 to November 2021, and served as Director of Information Security Risk & Assurance at North Carolina State University from July 2008 to November 2021, where responsibilities included developing a comprehensive cybersecurity program and managing IT audits. Other notable experience includes the position of Information Technology Security Manager at SERVALANS, leading a strategic transition to a managed security service provider. Leo holds an MBA from North Carolina State University, along with a B.Sc. in Computer Science from The University of the West Indies.
