Joe Kane is a Fellow at The Brookings Institution since June 2012, where research focuses on economic development and the built environment within the Brookings Metro Program. Additionally, Joe serves as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, teaching a graduate course on U.S. topics starting in August 2023. Previously, Joe worked as an Economist at the U.S. Department of Labor, conducting research on employment and wages at the Bureau of Labor Statistics from September 2009 to August 2010. Academic credentials include a Master of Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia, a Bachelor's degree in Economics and History, summa cum laude, from William & Mary, and studies at The London School of Economics and Political Science. Joe's foundational education includes a Classical Diploma from Phillips Exeter Academy.
