Kathleen J. Gosnell is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel since June 2019, focusing on the potential release of mercury from historic World War II munitions in the Baltic Sea. Previously, Kathleen served as an Adjunct Professor at Front Range Community College, teaching Environmental Science and Chemistry, and was the Lead Immunohistochemist at HistoTox Labs, where antigen identification was performed through immunostaining techniques. Kathleen completed a PhD in Oceanography at the University of Connecticut, conducting research on mercury bioaccumulation in marine plankton. Prior educational experiences include a Master's in Chemical Oceanography from Florida State University and a dual degree in Oceanography and Chemistry from Humboldt State University.
