Christel van den Bogaard has an extensive academic and research career, currently serving as the Head of Postdoc Academic Career Support Center (PACT) and holding roles as Wissenschaftliche Koordinatorin for both the deutsch-kanadischen Graduiertenkollegs HOSST and the Deutsch-Russischen Verbundvorhabens KALMAR at GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel, where employment dates back to January 2007. Previous positions include Visiting Research Scientist at GEOMAR in 2006, and ownership of TRACE from June 2004 to December 2005. Christel also has postdoctoral experience as a scientific employee at IFM-GEOMAR and as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. The academic journey began in August 1991 as a Research Scientist at GEOMAR Forschungszentrum für Marine Geowissenschaften, and educational qualifications include a Dr. rer. nat in Geologie und Erd-/Geowissenschaften from Kiel University and an exchange program at the University of Toronto.
