Matthew Dawson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the geosciences sector. Currently serving as Assistant Director at the Geological Society of America since July 2010, Matthew administers the Center for Professional Excellence, facilitating career growth for geoscientists. Prior roles include managing education programs and leading initiatives such as GeoCorps America and Geoscientists-in-the-Parks, connecting students and early career professionals with opportunities in public lands. Previous experience includes serving as Assistant Naturalist for the City of Chandler, AZ, and teaching science at Brockton High School. Matthew holds a Master’s degree in Geology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Caltech.
