Mari Kivinen is a Senior Scientist and Team Manager in Mineral Intelligence at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK), a position held since 2008. In this role, Mari leads a team of eight, focusing on minerals foresight, raw materials security, and ESG aspects related to mineral resources. Previously, Mari served as a Senior Scientist and Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology Sydney, for seven months in 2016-2017. Academically, Mari Kivinen obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geology/Earth Science from the University of Helsinki and a Master of Science (MSc) in the same field from the same institution.
