Jukka Kuva is a Research Scientist at the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) since June 2017, where responsibilities include managing the microCT laboratory. Previously, Jukka worked as a Beer Expert at First Pint Oy, focusing on research for import/export in Sweden, and served as a Postgraduate Student at the University of Helsinki, studying transmittive properties of rock. Additional experience includes a role as a Visiting PhD Student at the University of Poitiers, analyzing microcrack apertures, and multiple positions at the University of Jyväskylä, including Project Researcher and Research Assistant, where research centered on XCT studies and mineral samples for nuclear waste disposal. Jukka began the professional journey with summer trainee roles at Neste Oil and Visulahden Matkailu. Educational qualifications comprise a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a Master of Science (MSc) in Physics from the University of Jyväskylä, along with a high school diploma emphasizing Physics and Mathematics.
