Yu Liang

VP of Ab Drug Discovery at GenScript ProBio

Yu Liang has over 30 years of experience in the field of biotechnology and drug discovery. Yu is currently serving as the VP of Ab Drug Discovery at GenScript ProBio since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at WuXi Biologics, Discovery as a Director II from 2017 to 2022, where they were responsible for building and managing the Discovery portfolio/pipelines, supervising project execution, and delivering Preclinical Candidates (PCC) and out-licensing deals. Before joining WuXi Biologics, Yu Liang worked as an Investigator II at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research(Shanghai) from 2012 to 2017. From 2006 to 2012, they worked as a Research Fellow at NIH, and from 1998 to 2006, they worked at The University of Chicago as a Doctoral research & post-doctoral scholar, where they investigated the functions of viral proteins and their interactions with cellular signaling pathways. Yu Liang started their research career in 1992 as a Research Assistant & Master's research at the Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, where they focused on cloning and sequencing viral genes and developing vaccines.

Yu Liang received a PhD in Virology/Microbiology from the University of Chicago, completing the program from 1998 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine. Furthermore, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Cell biology from Wuhan University. The exact years of completion for the MS and BS degrees are not specified.
