Dr. Jeff Vinokur, PhD has a diverse work experience in various fields. Dr. Jeff is the Founder & CEO of Generation Genius, Inc., a startup that creates entertaining streaming videos for the digital learning market while also inspiring kids in science. Dr. Jeff developed and performed a live touring science program for K-12 schools called The Dancing Scientist® and showcased it at various prestigious events and TV shows. Additionally, they worked as a PhD Candidate & Researcher at UCLA Biochemistry, where they made significant contributions to the field by discovering a novel mevalonate pathway in a prehistoric bacteria and solving the crystal structure of one of the enzymes. Dr. Jeff also worked as a YouTube Entrepreneur, monetizing their 25 million YouTube viewers by creating and selling instructional dance videos. At UW-Madison Chemistry, they conducted research on peptide inhibitors targeting cancer treatment, as well as produced and hosted science videos for the university. Dr. Jeff also worked as a Researcher at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center, studying and engineering metabolic pathways for ethanol production. Lastly, they conducted photosynthesis research at Penn State University.
Dr. Jeff Vinokur, PhD, has an extensive education history. Dr. Jeff attended Pascack Hills High School from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a general education degree. Following this, from 2008 to 2012, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Moving forward, they continued their education at UCLA, where they completed a Masters Degree (MS) in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from 2012 to 2013. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry, Molecular, and Structural Biology at UCLA from 2012 to 2017.
