Shawna Downing is a seasoned professional in the biotechnology and engineering sectors with extensive experience in process development and science. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Drug Substance Process Science at Generation Bio since October 2020, Shawna has held various roles from Senior Engineer to Principal Associate Scientist. Prior experience includes roles in upstream process development at MassBiologics and research at Tufts University, along with quality documentation and field engineering positions at Takeda Oncology and Schlumberger, respectively. Education includes a Master of Science in Bioengineering from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
