Bill Turko has a strong background in IT and engineering. Bill started their career in 1985 as a SR Field Service Engineer at Concurrent Computer Corporation, where they provided support and service for high-performance computer systems. In 1994, they worked as a Lead UNIX Systems Administrator as a self-employed IT consultant. Turko then joined MicroAge in 1995 as a Lead System Administrator, leading a team of system administrators and technicians. In 1997, they joined American Express as a Director, Technical Delivery, where they provided strategic direction and oversaw engineering and operational support teams. Bill later joined General Dynamics Mission Systems in 2013 as an IT Security Principal.
