Jonathan Barber has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Jonathan started their career in 1996 as a Production Operative at Greggs of Gosforth before quickly progressing to the role of Assistant Production Manager. In 1998, they became the Savoury Production Manager and gained extensive experience in fast-moving manufacturing processes, inventory control, and health and safety.

In 2000, Jonathan joined AarhusKarlshamn as a Production Controller. Jonathan was responsible for managing a skilled team of operators and overseeing various process operations. Jonathan achieved daily production targets and had managerial responsibilities for Flaking, Emulsifying, and Spray Crystallisation processes. Jonathan was later promoted to the role of Site Operations Manager where they had full site management control and led the production transfer of the Oldham operation to Hull.

In 2012, Jonathan joined McCormicks as a Shift Team Leader, managing a team during the production process. Jonathan then moved to Tremco Illbruck in 2013 as a Production Manager, overseeing production operations. Jonathan held this role until 2018.

Currently, Jonathan works at genedrive, where they started as an Operations Manager in December 2018 and later became the Operations Director in July 2021.

Jonathan Barber completed their high school education at West Hill High School from 1985 to 1989. Jonathan then attended Ashton Sixth Form College from 1990 to 1992, although they did not complete a degree or pursue a specific field of study during this time. Finally, they attended The University of Sheffield from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a 2:2 degree in History.
