Romu Corbau is an experienced scientific leader currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer at Adverum Biotechnologies since January 2024 and holding the position of CSO at GenEdit since August 2021. Corbau has previously worked as CSO and Senior Vice President of Research at Freeline from 2017 to 2021, and as Translational Lead at Spark Therapeutics, Inc. from 2014 to 2017. Other notable roles include Director of Translational Research at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Director at CISTIM. Corbau began an extensive career at Pfizer as an Associate Research Fellow. Educational qualifications include a PhD from INSERM Unit 375 and other degrees from Pasteur Institute and the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology, with a strong focus on biochemical research.
