Els Snackaert has extensive experience in local government and community services, currently holding the position of Diensthoofd at Gemeente Bornem since June 2018. Els has served in various roles at Gemeentebestuur Bornem since August 2001, including Beleidscoördinator vrije tijd and cultuurbeleidscoördinator. Previous positions include Bestuursecretaris jeugd at Provincie Vlaams Brabant from February 1999 to September 2001 and work in the Jeugddienst at Gemeente Bornem from December 1993 to February 2000. Early professional experience includes serving as a Pedagogisch medewerker at Chirojeugd-Vlaanderen vzw from 1986 to 1992. Els holds a Licentiaat in Moderne geschiedenis from KUL Leuven, earned between 1980 and 1985, and completed a two-year Spanish program at the Centrum voor levende talen in Leuven from 1982 to 1984.
