Craig Newell has over 20 years of work experience in the field of information security. Craig is currently serving as the Vice President of Enterprise Information Security at GDI Integrated Facility Services. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Cyber Security at LCBO, where they were responsible for modernizing information security, risk, and governance capabilities. Craig also worked as an Information Security Contractor/Director at 2353936 ONTARIO LTD., establishing an information security and risk management practice. Craig has also held managerial roles at Direct Energy and Capgemini Canada, where they led teams and implemented enterprise-wide solutions to reduce risk. Earlier in their career, they worked as a self-employed contractor, providing information security consulting services. Throughout their career, Craig has demonstrated their expertise in areas such as investigations, vulnerability management, and risk assessments.

Craig Newell's education history includes multiple degrees and certifications. In 1992, they attended Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, where they studied print journalism and graduated in 1994.
