Liudmila Smirnova has extensive work experience in the finance industry. Liudmila currently serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Gazprom-media since June 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Executive Vice President of Finance at Vympelcom PJSC from July 2020 to June 2022. Before that, they held the position of CFO at Kaspersky Lab from March 2017 to June 2020 and at Tele2 Russia from August 2012 to March 2017. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Vice-President of Finance at Hachette Filipacchi Shkulev/InterMediaGroup from September 2004 to August 2012. Liudmila also worked as a Finance Manager at ACNielsen from April 2001 to September 2004 and held the position of Chief Accountant/Finance Controller at Independent Media from June 1997 to April 2001. Liudmila's work experience also includes their role as a Tax Manager/Senior Accountant at Hewlett Packard from January 1996 to May 1997.

Liudmila Smirnova completed their Master's degree in Business Administration from the Russian State University for Humanities between 1991 and 1996. Liudmila also attended Moscow State University in 1999, although no degree or field of study is specified. In 2023, they obtained certification as a non-executive director from the Independent Directors Association Academy, specializing in the board of directors.
