Badan Barman currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Gauhati University since September 2014, having previously held the position of Assistant Librarian and Academic Consultant at Krishna Kanta Hanidiqui State Open University from June 2008 to September 2014. Badan's early career included roles as a Web Developer at Media Trust Assam and a Research Assistant at Gauhati University, alongside an apprenticeship at Central Reference Library. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Library and Information Science from Gauhati University (2007-2011) and a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) from the same institution (2003-2005).
