Brian Coonley currently serves as the Director of Professional Learning and Consultation at Gateways: Access to Jewish Education since March 2023. Prior to this role, Brian worked at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education from June 2018 to March 2023 as an Equity and Inclusion Specialist, where responsibilities included managing special education initiatives addressing institutional biases, leading the development of special education resources during the COVID-19 pandemic, and participating in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Brian's experience also encompasses roles as a special education teacher and educational team facilitator at Brookline High School, a 7th Grade World Geography teacher at Natick Public Schools, and a 4th Grade teacher at Lowell Community Charter Public School. Brian holds a Master of Education from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University, along with completion of the Massachusetts Aspiring Supervisor Program.
