Caprice Taylor Mendez is an accomplished leader and educator currently serving as the President of the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut since March 2023. Mendez's extensive background includes roles as an Adjunct Professor at Gateway Community College and a Radio Host for "Together, We Can / Juntos, Podemos." Mendez has operated as a consultant since June 2011, focusing on community engagement and education reform, and has held significant positions such as Strategic Program Manager at The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and Director of the Youth Services Department for the City of New Haven. As the Founding Executive Director of Emerge Massachusetts, Mendez supported progressive women in politics, while previous experience includes leadership roles in public education advocacy and national policy for Latino health initiatives. Mendez holds a Master’s in Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree from Boston College.
