David Wyatt has a strong background in scientific research and leadership roles. David started their career as a National Science Foundation Fellow at Georgetown University. David then worked as a Research Assistant at North Carolina State University, where they conducted experiments on DNA dynamics and developed a system for labeling molecules. David later joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a PhD Candidate, focusing on DNA repair pathways and genome engineering. After completing their PhD, they joined Element Genomics as a Founding Scientist, where they integrated epigenetic regulation and high-throughput screening to discover therapeutics. Element Genomics was acquired by UCB Pharma, and David managed cross-functional collaborations at UCB post-acquisition. David then joined Maze Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist, specializing in functional genomics. Currently, David is the Senior Director and Head of Platform Science at Gate Bioscience. Overall, they have extensive experience in genetic research, functional genomics, and leadership in the biotech industry.
David Wyatt obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from North Carolina State University from 2007 to 2011. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2011 to 2016.
