Marjan M. Naeini's work experience includes serving as a Computational Biologist at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research since December 2021. They have also worked as a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at UNSW starting in December 2022. Marjan has held the role of Bioinformatician for AGITG working parties on lower and upper GI at the GI Cancer Institute & Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group since March 2021. They have been a Visiting Scientist at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute since December 2021, previously serving as a Research Officer from October 2018 to December 2021. Additionally, Marjan has been an Honorary Research Fellow at The University of Queensland since February 2021. They completed their PhD at the Genome Institute of Singapore from June 2016 to July 2018.

Following that, they attended the University of Isfahan and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Genetics during the years 2005 to 2009. Marjan M. then pursued their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Human Genetics at Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences from 2010 to 2013. Finally, they completed their academic journey by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Isfahan between 2013 and 2016.
