Cher Tate, CIPP/E is currently the Vice President, Sr. Deputy General Counsel and Chief Privacy Counsel at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK since December 2015. Prior to this role, Cher was a Principal at Stillwater Consulting from April 2003 to December 2015, providing legal and business affairs consulting services to clients in various industries. Cher also served as the Senior Corporate VP and General Counsel at TWIi (an IMG Company) from 1993 to 2003, specializing in internet law, technology licensing, and sports property. With a JD from Yale Law School and a BA magna cum laude in Russian Language & Literature from Harvard University, Cher has a strong legal background in digital media, privacy compliance, and data security matters.
