Xochitl Flores has extensive work experience as a software engineer. Xochitl started their career at US Army as a Personnel Administration Specialist from 1986 to 1989. Xochitl then worked at Motorola (Canopy) in various roles, including Senior Staff Software Engineer, where they re-architected the Bandwidth Authentication Manager and worked on projects for SmartNet/SmartZone. From 2011 to 2016, Xochitl worked at FactSet as a Senior Software Engineer, maintaining and developing support for Fixed Income databases and collaborating with an international team to port C++ libraries to Python. Since 2016, they have been working at Gamma Technologies, LLC as a Senior Software Engineer.

Xochitl Flores has a strong educational background in Computer Science in Engineering. Xochitl obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois Chicago from 1990 to 1995. Later on, they pursued a Master's degree in the same field from the same university, graduating between 1997 and 2000. Additionally, Xochitl has acquired certifications in Computer Networks from Coursera in March 2014 and in Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera in June 2013.
