Damon Packwood is an experienced professional in the video game industry and multimedia fields, currently serving as the Creator and Executive Director of Gameheads, a youth program focused on preparing individuals aged 15-24 for careers in electronic entertainment. In addition to this role, Damon operates as a multimedia and tech consultant and writer, contributing articles to publications such as New American Media, Bitmob, and Quartz. Damon has held positions of leadership and influence, including participation as a CA 100 Commissioner for Art, Culture and Entertainment, recognition as a Global Gaming Citizen at The Game Awards, and serving as a SEERS Fellow at Stanford University. Previous experiences include being a Black Male Achievement Fellow with Echoing Green, Program Manager at Hack the Hood, and a Research Assistant at California State University, East Bay, where game-based learning was a focus. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Multimedia Studies from California State University - East Bay and a Bachelor's degree in Film/Cinema/Video Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
