Austin Drozin

Director Of Curriculum at Game-U

Austin Drozin has a diverse work experience in the game development and programming field. Austin started their career as an intern and 3D artist at Lantern Light Studios in 2016. Austin later joined OUGDA as a 3D modeling and scripting tutor, where they provided personalized lessons to aspiring 3D artists.

In 2016, Austin also became involved with the Immersive Media Initiative, where they served as the project lead and lead programmer for the development of a Virtual Reality Tracheotomy Surgery Simulator application. Austin also contributed as a 3D artist for this project.

During their time at the GRID Lab, Austin worked as a game programmer on various projects. Austin also had the opportunity to help plan and moderate a panel for the Business of Games Summit.

Austin joined iCode Mobile Solutions in 2018 as a Unity generalist. There, they worked on developing a dynamic prototype head-up display for firefighters' helmets, which displayed temperature, location of other firefighters, and battery levels.

In the same year, Austin joined Game-U Enterprises as an instructor and game programmer. Austin taught students of various ages how to make games and oversaw the development of new curriculum for ages 8 to 10. Austin later took on the role of Director of Curriculum, where they led all forms of curriculum creation at Game-U.

Austin also had experience working with Oogaphobia, a partnership where they programmed and created 3D art for various projects, including the release of their first full game, Gone Wandering.

In 2018, Austin worked at Medforall as a new media programmer, focusing on creating AR and standard applications to assist people with disabilities. Austin also developed an iOS app using Xcode and Swift to provide remote support using head gaze technology.

Throughout their career, Austin has demonstrated a passion for game development, programming, and 3D art.

Austin Drozin attended Ohio University from 2014 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication with a focus on Game Development. In October 2017, they also received an Inbound Certification from HubSpot.
