Chief Sustainability Officer at Galway Sustainable Capital, Inc

Sarene Marshall has a diverse and extensive work experience in the sustainability and environmental field. Sarene is currently serving as the Chief Sustainability Officer at Galway Sustainable Capital, Inc since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at the Inter-American Development Bank from January 2018 to September 2021, where they held the position of Lead, Corporate Sustainability Program. In this role, they developed and implemented a strategic plan to reduce the Bank's environmental footprint and advised the Bank's leadership on carbon reduction goals. Sarene also created programs to increase staff and management awareness of sustainability.

From 2014 to 2016, Sarene served as the Executive Director of the Center for Sustainability at the Urban Land Institute. In this role, they led a team to deliver programming on climate change and sustainability for ULI's real estate industry members. Sarene also secured significant funding for various sustainability initiatives.

From 2007 to 2014, Sarene held multiple roles at The Nature Conservancy. As the Senior Advisor for Sustainability and Latin America, they spearheaded efforts to address the organization's carbon footprint and led teams in implementing green practices. Sarene also served as the Managing Director for Climate Change and led a global initiative to mitigate climate change and reduce vulnerability through natural solutions.
