Mark has litigated class actions and other high stakes cases in state and federal courts for more than two decades. He spent most of his early career as an associate and then a partner at Barger & Wolen (now part of Hinshaw & Culbertson), where he defended companies in class actions.

Fifteen years ago, Mark switched sides to begin representing consumers and workers in class actions. In that role, he has been a partner in two boutique LA-based class action firms -- Spiro Moore LLP (formerly Spiro Moss) and Moore & Leviant LLP – where he represented thousands of victims of large-scale wrongdoing, including fraud, unfair business practices, wrongful lending practices, wage & hour violations and other illegal conduct.

Mark’s class cases have resulted in settlements exceeding $125 million.Some of those cases include: Larsen, et al. v. Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp., C.D. Cal. Case No. SACV 10-00401 AG (MLGx) (alleged investment fraud scheme; $9.25 million settlement); Monaco v. The Bear Stearns Companies, Inc., et al., C.D. Cal. Case No. CV 09-05438 SJO (JCx) (lending practices; $18 million settlement); Peel v. BrooksAmerica, et al., C.D. Cal. CAse No. 8:11-cv-0079-JST (RNBx) (lending practices; $10 million settlement); Vargas v. Ceradyne, Inc., Orange County Superior Court Case No. 07CC01232 (wage/hour class action); Shersher v. Microsoft Corp., LA Superior Court Case No. BC 340630 (nationwide settlement). 

In addition to his class action practice, Mark has litigated complex business litigation matters and employment lawsuits in recent years. He also has represented whistleblowers in False Claims Act (“qui tam”) cases alleging fraud on the government.

Mark is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara (1992) and the UCLA School of Law (1995). When he isn’t litigating, Mark likes to travel internationally with his family.
