Cole Cornford has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and software development. Cole is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Galah Cyber since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Secure Code Consultant at Telstra from June 2021 to August 2022 and as a Senior SecOps Engineer at Lendi from August 2021 to July 2022.
Before their current roles, Cole worked at Change.org as a Staff Security Engineer, where they had broad responsibilities in cybersecurity risk analysis, security strategy, and implementation of security controls. Their tenure at Change.org was from May 2020 to August 2021.
Cole also gained valuable experience at Westpac, where they served as a Secure Code Specialist and an Information Security Consultant from August 2019 to April 2020 and from November 2017 to August 2019, respectively.
Additionally, Cole worked as an IT Security Analyst at the Australian Taxation Office from January 2015 to November 2017 and as a Software Developer independently from June 2013 to December 2015.
Cole Cornford received their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Newcastle, where they studied from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained their High School Diploma from Merewether High School, where they studied from 2003 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Cole has obtained several certifications, including "Secure Programming in Java" from elttam, "Akamai Kona Site Defender - Configuration and Maintenance" and "Akamai Web Performance and Offload" from Akamai Technologies, "GIAC Certified Incident Handler - GCIH" from GIAC Certifications, and "SAFE Practitioner" from Scaled Agile, Inc.
