Mary A. has a diverse work experience. Mary began their career in 2012 as a Residential Youth Counselor and Marketing Consultant at Camp Oliver, a summer camp serving youth from low income and marginalized communities in the San Diego area. In 2015, they became a Campus Host and Tour Guide at the University of Puget Sound Admissions. In 2017, Mary A. worked as a Research Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute, where they investigated the relation between serotonin signaling and metabolic state via transcriptional regulation of ATGL. Mary also worked as a Diversity Program Coordinator and Communications Coordinator at The Center for Intercultural & Civic Engagement, overseeing Diversity Center programming and community services, planning and running major events, managing internal scheduling and communications, and creating and leading educational workshops. In 2019, Mary A. was a Specialist and Coordinator at the SF LGBT Center, where they specialized in designing and delivering frontline public health services for the Drop-In and Navigation Resource Centers. Finally, in 2021, Mary A. became a Plant Program Manager at Plants by Rare Device and in 2023, they became a Research Associate at Prolific Machines Inc.
Mary A. attended the University of Puget Sound from 2015 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Pre Med/ Human Biology Emphasis. Mary also participated in a study abroad program at DIS from 2017 to present, focusing on Medical Practice and Policy.
