Pete Sechler has extensive work experience in the field of urban planning and landscape architecture. Pete started their career as a Landscape Designer at EDSA, Inc. in 1990 and then worked as a Landscape Architect at Hanson Taylor Bellomo Herbert from 1993 to 1995. Pete then joined Glatting Jackson as a Principal/Owner from 1996 to 2009. After that, they worked at Design + Planning at AECOM as a Principal from 2009 to 2014. During their time at AECOM, they focused on urban planning and landscape architecture in redevelopment areas, urban parks and streets, and campus environments. In 2014, they joined GAI Consultants, Inc. as the Director of the Community Solutions Group, where they led the integration of community visioning and master planning with various disciplines including urban landscape architecture, municipal engineering, community development, and public finance/economics. Since 2015, they have also been involved with the Urban Land Institute as a member of the ULI Central Florida TAPS. Throughout their career, Pete Sechler has been dedicated to helping communities realize their vision for vibrant and livable public spaces.

Pete Sechler PLA, AICP, MBA has a diverse education history. Pete obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University, where they studied from 1985 to 1990.

In more recent years, Pete pursued further education and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Point Park University, which they completed from 2016 to 2018. The field of study for their MBA is not specified.

Aside from formal degrees, Pete Sechler has also obtained various certifications. Pete is a Certified FRA Academy Trainer, accredited by the Florida Redevelopment Association, achieved in February 2021. In November 2016, Pete completed an Executive Leadership Program offered by the prestigious Harvard Business School.

Furthermore, Pete took part in the Experiential Placemaking Summer Studio program at Harvard University Graduate School of Design in July 1998. This program focuses on hands-on learning and applying design principles to create meaningful places.

Pete Sechler is also a Registered Landscape Architect, recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects. This certification was earned in September 1992. Lastly, they are an American Institute of Certified Planners member, affiliated with the American Planning Association, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
